An Unforgettable Experience Teaching Sea Glass Jewellery at Boardmasters Festival

Boardmasters x Sadie Jewellery

There are some experiences that come along in business that you know you’ll remember forever.. and teaching sea glass jewellery at Boardmasters Festival is definitely one of them.

Hands on heart, I had the best time ever.

When I was asked by Boardmasters to teach jewellery making workshops for them, I knew it was going to be exciting but I don’t think I realised just how special the experience would be. I spent the week surrounded by music, friends & sunshine (yes really), all while getting to share my love of jewellery making at the same time!

Making sea glass jewellery at Boardmasters

One of my favourite parts of the whole experience was meeting so many people who wanted to make their own sea glass jewellery. Everyone walked out of our workshops feeling proud of their creations and this melted me a little.

There were lots of laughs, plenty of concentration and a lot of “I made this!”

My Cornish jewellery girl gang

I couldn’t have done it without my magical team of Cornish jewellers.

I was lucky enough to have a gorgeous group of talented women working alongside me, together we made a proper Cornish jewellery girl gang 🥹💕

From helping festival goers choose their sea glass to teaching techniques, fixing fiddly bits of wire and generally keeping everything running smoothly, we all had our own strengths and smashed it as a team.

There was so much laughter and encouragement between us and it felt incredibly wholesome to be surrounded by such a brilliant group of women.

Girls really do rule.

Seeing women supporting women, sharing skills and having a brilliant time together was one of the highlights of the whole weekend for me.

The atmosphere at Boardmasters

And then, of course, let’s not forget the festival itself!

There were so many amazing acts playing throughout the festival, the atmosphere was electric. One minute we would be completely absorbed in helping someone make their sea glass pendant and the next minute we’d be at the main stage, dancing our shoes off ha ha.

Why I loved teaching at Boardmasters so much

For me, jewellery has always been about more than simply making something beautiful.

It’s about memories.

It’s about finding something special, creating something with your own hands and having an experience that you can look back on.

That is exactly what made the Boardmasters sea glass jewellery workshop so rewarding.

We taught in the most fabulous tipi tent in the wellness area of Zennor Haven. Alongside creative workshops they had saunas, hot tubs, cold water plunge pools, therapeutic healing treatments, yoga, pilates, you name it!

People came to the festival to have fun, listen to music, surf, spend time with friends and make memories and I we got to be a tiny part of that.

Some people came with their best friends, siblings, some with their partners and some simply fancied trying something completely different solo. Whatever brought them to our workshop, everyone left with a little piece of Cornwall that they had made themselves.

A huge thank you

I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who came along and made jewellery with us.

Thank you for your enthusiasm, your creativity and for trusting us to teach you something new. Seeing all of your finished pieces was hands down one of the best parts of the weekend.

A huge thank you to my incredible team of Cornish jewellers. I am so grateful for the girl club we created. Watch this space 👀

What started as a jewellery workshop turned into an experience I will never forget.

Boardmasters, you were an absolute dream.

Until next time… 👀👀👀

All my love, Sadie x
