From Australia to Cornwall
Merry People is an Australian brand known for its colourful & comfortable wellies. Founded by Dani Pearce, the brand has built a community around getting outdoors, embracing adventure and finding more joy in everyday life.
I love Merry People and everything that they stand for, so when I was asked to collaborate while Dani is back in the UK, I jumped at the opportunity!
The event is part of a series of four special Merry People customer events taking place across London, Manchester and Cornwall.
What could be more Cornish than a walk across the beach followed by making jewellery from genuine Cornish sea glass?
A morning at Watergate Bay
Merry People have hired the gorgeous Beach Hut for the event, taking place on 7th September at Watergate Bay. The beach hut has fantastic views overlooking the surf, it’s one of my favourite places to go for out for dinner too. Can highly recommend.
Making something completely unique
During the workshop, I’ll be sharing some of the techniques I use to create my own wire wrapped sea glass jewellery and guiding guests through the process of making their own unique sea glass necklace.
Sustainability is important to me so (as with all of my jewellery) we’ll be working with 100% recycled sterling silver.
Each piece of sea glass is different so everyone’s finished jewellery will be completely unique. We’ll be taking inspiration from the waves, drawing with wire and creating shapes to wrap our glass with.

Celebrating creativity and women in business
One of the things I particularly love about this collaboration is the focus on bringing people together.
Merry People is creating a series of events where customers can meet, chat, learn something creative and connect with other like minded people.
As a small independent jewellery business in Cornwall, I know how special that feeling of community can be.
I’m looking forward to meeting everyone, hearing their stories, helping them create their own sea glass jewellery and hopefully sending them home with a little piece of Cornwall to remember the morning by.
I feel incredibly lucky that my small Cornish sea glass jewellery business has led to opportunities like this, working with inspiring brands from all over the world.
