My Cornish Jewellery Business Dream Came True: Hosting a Pop Up in John Lewis Exeter

Cornwall jewellery designer hosting a pop up at John Lewis Exeter.

There are certain milestones in running a small business that feel almost surreal. Moments where you pause and say “wow, this is really happening”.

For me, one of those moments was hosting my two pop up shops inside John Lewis Exeter.

As the founder of a Cornish independent jewellery brand, seeing my handmade pieces displayed in such an iconic UK department store was an unforgettable experience. It wasn’t just exciting, it felt like a real recognition of all the hard work behind my small business journey.

From Cornwall to John Lewis Exeter: A Small Jewellery Business Milestone

Like many independent brands my jewellery business started small, creating from a desk in the spare bedroom. I said to myself “one day, I’m going to be in John Lewis” and well that dream actually came true.. ✨

Walking onto the shop floor and seeing my jewellery beautifully displayed was a moment I’ll never forget. It reminded me that all the late nights and hard work were leading somewhere truly special..

Meeting Customers and Sharing the Story Behind the Jewellery

Some of the best parts of my Exeter pop ups, were connecting with customers face to face.

I still can’t get over it but I met some of my very first customers in store, one that truly stands out was husband and wife duo from Newquay. The gentleman commissioned a custom sea glass pendant back in 2018, using their own sea glass. He called his wife over and lo and behold she was wearing the pendant!! Never takes it off apparently and that is a true testament as to how durable my pieces really are.

Many visitors were discovering my Cornish sea glass jewellery brand for the first time, making the experience even more rewarding. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing the vision and inspiration behind my designs

What’s Next for My Sea Glass Jewellery Brand

Hosting a pop up in Exeter has been one of the biggest highlights of my small business journey and it’s only the beginning.

There are exciting new collections, future pop ups, and collaborations ahead.

A huge thank you to everyone who visited the Exeter pop ups, supported my small business, shared kind words, or took home a piece of jewellery. And of course, thank you to John Lewis and Ind!e for giving small independent brands the chance to shine.

Thank you for being part of the journey.

With love,
Sadie x
